Toffee Apple Whiskey Sour

Pressed apple juice and Jake’s Maple Syrup are introduced to the classic ingredients to deliver a softer and more unctuous experience than the original. This is both a ‘serious’ cocktail and a true crowd pleaser.

The classic Whisky Sour recipe is the base for this dangerously moorish yet elegant version.

Ingredients

ml Part

20ml Jake’s Maple Syrup
20ml Fresh Lemon Juice
20ml Pressed Apple Juice
60ml Rye Whisky
1 Whole Egg White (see tip)
Garnish – Discarded lemon twist, stripe of angostura & apple fan

Top Tips

To make it vegan or if egg whites just give you the ick, sub in 30ml Aquafaba or other foaming ingredient.

Method

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake without ice to foam up the ingredients

Add ice to the shaker with the now fluffy ingredients and shake hard with ice

Fine strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of lemon for aromatics, a stripe of Angostura and apple fans
